A simple subwoofer box designer

2026-11-07

One project that has been lurking in my mind for a long time is upgrading my car’s audio system. The factory sub sits in an open cavity, and I want to reuse that spot for the new sub, which needs a closed box. So I had Claude whip up a little tool that designs a simple subwoofer box around a driver for a given target volume.

The tool lets you customize the front panel dimensions, sub position, various angles relative to the front panel, the target volume, material thickness and subwoofer parameters. It shows a 3D preview and generates a cut list.

It’s way overkill, but you can make “projects” and save them. Everything is stored in your browser; nothing leaves your computer. The share function creates a link with all the information in the URL, so you can share a design easily and a friend can look at whatever you created. The design lives in the URL fragment (the part after the #), which browsers never send to the server, so even shared designs stay private. No signups, accounts or similar nonsense needed.
